Psychodynamic Psychotherapy: The Talking Cure

Are you feeling stuck in a repetitive and painful behavioral or emotional pattern that you’ve been unable to transcend by other means?

Psychodynamic psychotherapy provides a unique opportunity to understand what underlies these patterns and create a healing narrative that brings clarity and meaning to our inner worlds. Putting words to thoughts and feelings leads to new insights and helps relieve feelings of hopelessness, meaninglessness, and frustration while building a strong sense of self: a quality that helps us navigate our lives with confidence and a sense of inner freedom.

Healing is a collaborative process that unfolds in the context of the relationship between therapist and client. A successful therapy requires skill and careful moment-to-moment consideration on the part of the therapist as well as active participation from the client. It is important that client and therapist be well-matched, which is why I meet with each perspective client before a mutual commitment to treatment is made.

I have successfully treated many differnt kinds of psychological ailments. Many poeple who find me have been in therapy before and have felt that something was missing or did not quite get to the heart of the matter. I believe it is my strength to engage my clients in a differnt kind of conversation that leads to a new way of being within themselves. To name a few issues that I currently treat:

◦Relationship and Attachment Issues

◦Depression and Anxiety

◦Grief and Loss

◦Issues of Self-Esteem, Anger, and Identity

◦Co-Dependency

◦Issues of Adult Children of Alcoholics

◦Substance Abuse

◦Eating Disorders

◦Self-harming Behaviors

◦Family Conflict and Divorce

◦Trauma
